North Carolina schools have a lot to offer according to a recent ranking of the Best Values in Public and Private Schools done by Kiplinger.com.
In the list of 100 Best Values in Public Colleges 2009-10 , two of North Carolina's schools landed in the top 10, with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill holding strong in the top spot and North Carolina State University rounding out tenth place. North Carolina has the third highest number of schools in the top 100 behind California and New York.

Private universities in North Carolina also received recognition with Duke University coming in at number 6 on the list of 50 Best Values in Private Universities 2009-10.
